Marjorie Louise LePage, 81, of Joplin, beloved wife, sister, mother and grandmother, died suddenly of leukemia on September 8, 2018.
Marjorie was born on September 2, 1937, to Edward and Louise Mettlach of Pierce City, Missouri. She grew up on their beautiful farm, attending St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Pierce City, and graduating with honors as salutatorian from Pierce City High School in 1955.
Marjorie married Patrick LePage on February 15, 1958, and they had five children. Marjorie devoted her life to caring for her family and to serving her church. She and Patrick sent all five children to the Joplin Catholic School system, cheering them on through their many academic and extracurricular activities.
She served Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Webb City as a Eucharistic Minister, member of the church’s shut-in ministry, and coordinator of the funeral dinner committee. Marjorie worked to promote parish unity for more than 50 years by serving an uncountable number of donuts and pots of coffee.
Marjorie is survived by her husband, Patrick LePage; their five children, Mary Crumpley and her husband, Larramie, of Overland Park, Kansas; Brian LePage and his wife, Lori, of Franklin, Tennessee; Shaun LePage and his wife, Beth, of Lawrence, Kansas, Phillip LePage and his wife, Cher, of Joplin, Marla LePage of Joplin; fifteen grandchildren, Sharla Pair and her husband, Kris, of Overland Park, Kansas, Gabriel Crumpley, and his wife, Rachel, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, Meghan LePage-Beeman and her husband, Aaron, of Tampa, Florida, Morgan LePage, Michael LePage, MacKenzie LePage, Bryce LePage, Hannah LePage, Abigail LePage, Josiah LePage, Lydia LePage, Jordan LePage, Mary LePage, Elijah LePage, Cash LePage; two great-grandchildren, Victoria Pair and Jaxon Pair; brothers Harold Mettlach and his wife, Loretta, and Kenneth Mettlach and his wife, Sue, and their families.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Louise Mettlach.
Visitation and rosary will be Tuesday from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri. Funeral Mass will be Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 909 N. Madison, Webb City, Missouri, with Father Rahab Isidor officiating, assisted by Father Francisco “Paco” Gordillo. Funeral dinner to follow. Interment will be after the dinner at St. Agnes Cemetery, south of Sarcoxie, Missouri. Pallbearers will be Kris Pair, Gabriel Crumpley, Morgan LePage, Michael LePage, Bryce LePage and Josiah LePage. The family requests that donations be made in lieu of flowers to Sacred Heart Church Maintenance Fund or the Ronald McDonald House.
Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
