Nancy Lee Burkholder, 78, of Noel, Missouri was called to heaven on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at her residence with her loving family by her side.
She was born on December 10, 1939 in Thomas, Oklahoma, the youngest of 12 children born to the late Arthur and Hilda (Clark) Thompson. Nancy married the love of her life, Larry Burkholder on August 3, 1959 at Southwest City, Missouri. She was a child care giver in her home for over 27 years; she adored her kids and they lovingly referred to her as Granny Nancy. Nancy also enjoyed cooking, collecting antiques and flower gardening.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Tony Van Burkholder; a grandson, Justin Burkholder and nine siblings.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Larry Burkholder of the home; a son, Michael Jon Burkholder of Noel, Missouri; a daughter, Cynthia Dawn West and husband, Stuart of Rogersville, Missouri; a brother, Hal Thompson of Edinburg, Texas; sister, Zereta Kiesau of Clinton, Oklahoma; special friend, Melody Cooper of Miami, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Jessica, Jeremy and Kayla; three great grandchildren, Karlie, Lane and Micah; as well as a host of other family and friends who will dearly miss Nancy.
Graveside funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 10:00 am at the Noel Cemetery in Noel, Missouri. Cody Bishop will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Friday, September 28, 2018 at the Noel Chapel of the Ozark funeral home; family will receive friends at this time.
