With tender feelings we announce that Betty Ann Bolin, of Carterville, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at her home.
Betty was born September 8, 1932 in London, Ohio, daughter of the late Raney Nelson Chitwood and Josephine Vandermark Chitwood. She married James Estil Bolin on September 11, 1954, he preceded her in death in 1986.
Betty's greatest love was her family. She loved them, and enjoyed spending time with them. She also loved horses, as was evident when you walked into her home. She was raised on a farm, and grew to love horses at an early age. She was known for her poetry, and displayed a very tender heart through her poetry. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and enjoyed researching her ancestors, and sharing her findings with her daughters. She was an especially good listener, and was never afraid to speak out regarding her love of her Savior.
In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by a grandson, James Farley Stork, and a great-grandson, Lane Michael Thompson.
Survivors include her daughters, Debra Jo Gatrell and husband Cory of Kaneohe, Hawaii, Carol Ann McDaniel and husband Greg of Phoenix, Arizona, and Connie Sue Bolin and Thomas Lavelle of Seneca, Missouri; eight grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
Memorial service will be held on Monday, August 5, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Joplin Stake Center, with Bishop Brandon Crockett presiding.
Interment of her ashes will be Wednesday, August 7, 2019 next to her husband, James, in Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery, Dayton, Ohio.
The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
