Raymond A. Ervin, Jr age 87 of Carthage passed away on Friday, July 26, 2019 at Freeman West Hospital. He was born on February 19, 1932 in Webb City, Missouri to Raymond A. Ervin, Sr. and Martha (Swindle) Ervin.
Raymond graduated from Carterville High School in the class of 1950. and was a United States Navy veteran having served in the Korean War. He retired from Atlas Powder Company.
Raymond married Cathy L. (Eichelberger) Ervin on June 10, 1955 in Miami, Oklahoma and she preceded him in death on January 24, 2016. He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Tim Feurt and 5 siblings.
Raymond is survived by his sons, Raymond Ervin and wife Susie of Carthage, Dennis Ervin of Carthage; a daughter, Linda Feurt of Goodman; grandchildren, Matt Ervin, Nathan Ervin, Rylee Ervin, Isaac Ervin, Jacob Mullen, Josh Mullen, and Melissa Peterson.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at 10:00 AM in the chapel of Simpson Funeral Home in Webb City with Jeff Freeman officiating. The family will be present for a visitation on Monday from 6:00 PM 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Carterville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in his memory.
