Pat Center

Maleta “Pat” Center, age 94, of Joplin, Mo. passed away at 11:13 a.m. Friday July 26, 2019 at Mercy Hospital Joplin.

Pat was born November 9, 1924 in Ellsworth, Kansas. She moved to Joplin in 1992 after spending over 35 years in Aurora, Mo. She was employed for several years with the Vasey-Bristol Shoe Mfg. Co. in Monett, Mo. and later worked as a CNA with the Aurora Hospital and Aurora Nursing Home. She was a member of the College Heights Christian Church and volunteered with Crosslines, and American Rehabilitation Ministry.

Pat married William W. Center January 24, 1942 in Cassville, Mo. He preceded her in death on May 20, 2009. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Fenske, and a grandson, Jason Gray. 








Survivors include a daughter, Katherine Wilkerson, Joplin, one sister, Louise Stockton, Aurora, two grandsons, Michael Wilkerson and wife Carol, and Patrick “Danny” Wilkerson, and 7 great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Clio Cemetery, Jenkins, Mo. with Rick Bushnell, Minister, officiating. Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Mortuary. Memorial contributions are requested to God’s Resort in care of the Mortuary. 

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mason-Woodard Mortuary of Joplin, Mo.
