Katheryn Sitton

Katheryn Maude Sitton, age 89, Joplin, Missouri, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 26, 2019 at Freeman Hospital.

Katheryn was born November 12, 1929 in Joplin, Missouri, daughter of the late Frankie and Agnes (Branham) Moffet. Katheryn attended Joplin schools and was a long-time active member of Fellowship Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school for many years. In her final years, she was a member of Wellspring Church, Webb City, Missouri. Katheryn loved traveling and spending time with her family. She enjoyed living life, and spent most of her time laughing and telling stories with her family and friends.

She married the love of her life, David L Sitton, on July 3, 1947. They owned and operated Sitton Motor Lines. They enjoyed forty-seven wonderful years together before he preceded her in death on December 31, 1994.








In addition to her parents and husband, Katheryn was also preceded in death by a sister Phyllis Hemphill.

She is survived by her three children, Richard (Dick) Sitton and wife Lana, Cindy Tignor and husband Bob, all of Joplin, Missouri, and D. Michael (Mike) Sitton and wife Cheri, Tulsa, Oklahoma; siblings, Earl Moffet, Sweet Home, Oregon, Robert Moffet, Granby, Missouri, Ronald Moffet, Chelsea, Oklahoma, and Mary Moffet Alexander, Mullan, Idaho; ten grandchildren, Chad Sitton, Jennifer Wilkins and husband Lonnie, Alison Parker, Brian Sitton and wife Paige, Brad Sitton and wife Jennifer, W. Lance Tignor and wife Dusti, Staci Saunders and husband Tracy, Dustin Tignor and wife Kati, Emily Bird and husband Tyler, and Damon Sitton; 25 great grandchildren whom she loved dearly.

Funeral services are planned for Tuesday, July 30, 2019, at 11:00 am at Wellspring Church, 2424 N Main Street, Webb City, Missouri. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church.

Private family interment will be at Forest Park Cemetery with grandsons serving as pallbearers.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
