Gary Ankney

Gary David Ankney, 74, formerly of Neosho, Missouri passed away July 16, 2019 in Monroe, Louisiana after an extended illness.

Gary was born June 16, 1945 in Neosho to Charles and Rita (Berry) Ankney. He lived various places throughout his life, returning to Neosho in 1999, and had lived in Calhoun, LA for the past two years. Gary was a veteran of the US Air Force, serving in Korea. He was self-employed with a lawn mowing business and also had worked in the food service industry, serving colleges and universities. Gary was a member of the Ritchey Bible Holiness Church and enjoyed fishing and gardening. 

He and Carol Ann Williams were married June 4, 1965 in Kansas City, MO; she preceded him in death on March 28, 2011. 








Gary is survived by three children, Jeffrey Ankney and wife, Trina of Calhoun, LA, Julie Ankney and partner, Bryan Zier of Sulphur Springs, MO, and John Ankney and wife, Jennifer of Anderson, MO; one brother, Charles Ankney, Jr. of Pennsylvania; one sister, Dorinda Tanner of Oklahoma City, OK; thirteen grandchildren, Angel, Alainna, Peyton, Haley, Hannah, Zach, Whitni, Jayci, Kailie, Faith, Austin, Kiesha, and Savannah; and eight great grandchildren, Madilyn, Mia, Jaxon, Hadleigh, Wyatt, Shiloh, Luke, and John.

Services will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, July 19, 2019 at Clark Funeral Home, Granby Chapel, Granby, MO with Dan Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Dice Cemetery, Fairview, MO. A time of visitation will be from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Thursday, July 18 at Clark Funeral Home, Granby, MO.
