Edmond Ray Lauderdale, 82 years, of Anderson, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 doing what he loved; helping a friend and hauling cattle.
Ed was born on April 9, 1937 to the late Kermit "Pete" and Frances (Mosby) Lauderdale. He served in the United States Navy serving our country for four years. He spent 40 years in Kansas City selling medical equipment. Ed sold the first cardiac pacemaker (Medtronic). Happily retired back to the farm in 1999 where he has enjoyed all things, McDonald County youth, Beefmaster Cattle, hanging out at Goodman Tire and Auto, meals with friends and attending everything his grandkids were involved in, especially horse shows with Mason. Ed was also an active member of the McDonald County Republican Party.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Lillie Laughlin (Bill).
Ed is survived by his son, Ret. Chief Petty Officer John Lauderdale (Melinda); his daughter, Monica Lauderdale (David); three grandchildren, Zachary Shuler (Carah), Mason Rickman and John Zavier Lauderdale; his favorite rock throwing buddy, great grandson, Wilder Shuler; many extended family and the best friends a man could ask for.
Funeral services for Ed Lauderdale will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 29, 2019 at the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Home. Pastor Shane Munn and Pastor Frank Crosby will officiate. Burial with full military honors will follow the service in the Mayfield cemetery in Goodman, Missouri. Those honoring Ed's life by serving as pallbearers are John Lauderdale, Monica Lauderdale, Zachary Shuler, Steve Holdeman, Gerrod Sprenkle, Paul Sprenkle and Nick Neece; Steve Wimpey will serve as honorary pallbearer. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 28, 2019 from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. at the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at this time.
Memorial contributions in loving memory of Ed may be given to the McDonald County School Foundation in care of the funeral home.
