George Stockam

George Eugene Stockam, age 70, of Webb City, Missouri, passed away Sunday, July 14, 2019.

George was born February 14, 1949, in Joplin, Missouri, to the union of the late Chester and Laura (Hailey) Stockam. He graduated with Honors from Joplin High School in 1967. Following high school, George attended Missouri Southern. Transportation was his career focus and he worked for Fleming Foods for 25 years. George also worked in delivery at Meadow Gold Dairy. He worked for both Joplin Schools and Webb City Schools, where he performed maintenance, and also drove a bus for Webb City Schools.

George was a sports enthusiast and an avid MU fan. He had a true passion for playing golf and he even once won the Ozark Amateur. George dearly loved his son, Lonnie, step-sons, Daniel and Nicholas, and his grandson, Jude. He attended Central United Methodist Church in Webb City and was a member of the Elks Club #501 of Joplin.

On June 14, 2003, George was united in marriage to Mary Doscotch and she survives.








Additional survivors include his son, Lonnie Stockam (Linda), of Neosho, Missouri; step-sons, Daniel Stadler (Lauren) of Joplin, Missouri, and Nicholas Stadler of Fayetteville, Arkansas; his grandson, Jude Stadler; a sister, Susan Speakers, of Trumann, Arkansas; his aunt, Helen Mullins, of Webb City, Missouri; his uncle, James Stockam, of Joplin; one niece and two nephews; his beloved dogs, Ella and Oscar; as well as a host of extended family and friends.

Memorial visitation will be held from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, 2019, at Central United Methodist Church in Webb City. A private committal service will take place on Thursday with Pastor Clint Lambeth officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Central United Methodist Church or the Ronald McDonald House.
