Marva Chambers

Mrs. Marva Irene Chambers, 76, of Southwest City, Missouri, departed this life on Saturday, July 27, 2019, in the comfort of her home after a recent battle with cancer.

Marva entered this life on August 14, 1942, in Webb City, Missouri, daughter of the late Henry Marvin and Clara Elizabeth (Williams) Martin. She was raised in Webb City and was 1960 graduate of Webb City High School.

On March 16, 1962, she was united in marriage to John Ira Chambers and together they shared fifty-six years before his passing on February 19, 2019. In 1969 they moved their family to rural Southwest City, Missouri. She was a devoted homemaker throughout her life. She was a talented musician and served as church pianist at the United Methodist Church and the Cowboy Church both in Southwest City. She enjoyed reading, crocheting and learning new things.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Ira Chambers; and two siblings, Mary and Henry.







Marva is survived by her two children, John Chambers, Jr. of La Junta, Colorado and Candice Maree’ Bruce of Southwest City, Missouri; five grandchildren, Hannah Bruce, Taylor Chambers, Stacy Wolff, Nick Bresnehen and Elizabeth Chambers; six great grandchildren; two sisters, Alberta Owens and Ann St. Marie a nephew, Leslie Owens of Southwest City; three nieces, Marsha Cooper of Southwest City, Mary Owens of Noel and Michelle Moore also of Southwest City; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services will be held graveside on Friday, August 2, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Stone Cemetery near Diamond, Missouri. The family will receive friends on Friday morning at 9:00 a.m. in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes.
