Ruth Ann Knight, age 62, Joplin, passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at her home.
Ruth was born January 29, 1957 in Joplin, daughter of the late Willie Foy and Laura Barksdale Foy. She graduated from Memorial High School, and then earned a certificate at Franklin Tech to be a phlebotomist. She worked for years at Oak Hill Hospital, then Freeman Hospital, and finally at St. Dominic's Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi. She moved from Joplin to Mississippi in 1999. She returned to Joplin in 2007 after her husband, David Knight, passed away.
In addition to her husband David, and parents, Willie and Laura, Ruth was preceded in death by a brother, Jim Foy, and a sister, Ethel Thomas.
Survivors include her children, Preston Weathers (Andrea), and Kendria Weathers all of Joplin; grandchildren, Brylan Patton, Darriyon Cobb, Jorian Cobb, Elijah Weathers, Kezziah Thomas, Devrin Weathers, Ambryona Weathers, Jayden Weathers, NaVraja Samuels, Robert Richards, and Jayden Richards; brother, Willie Foy, Jr. (Sheila) of Tampa, Florida; sister, Billie Wofford (Dave) of Fayetteville, Arkansas; several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2019, starting at 11:00 a.m. at Parker Mortuary. A repass will follow at Ewert Park beginning at 1:00 p.m. Friends are invited to come by and share stories and memories with the family.
