JoAnn Clugston, 84, Joplin, entered into rest on July 26, 2019, following an extended illness. JoAnn was born January 19, 1935 in Girard, Kansas, the daughter of John and Opal (Dillon) Cochran. She was a lifelong area resident of Joplin and worked in sales for many years at Joplin Pipe and Steel.
She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, spending time at the lake and fishing and being with the Tuesday Night Supper Club. She was a former member of the Eastern Star and of the Baptist faith.
JoAnn is survived by a daughter, Dianne Palmer and husband, Mike of Rogers, Arkansas; two grandchildren, Christopher Palmer and wife, Kendra of Fayetteville, Arkansas and Christa Palmer of Rogers, Arkansas and two great grandchildren, McCrae and Logan Palmer.
She is preceded in death by a daughter, Valerie Joy, her parents, her stepfather, Francis Johnson, a sister Marilyn and a brother, Robert.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, Aug. 1, 2019 at 11 am at the Girard Cemetery, Girard, Kansas. The family will receive friends at a time of visitation on Wednesday evening from 5:30 to 7 pm at the Clark Funeral Home, Neosho.
