Anne Witherspoon

Anne (Oliver) Witherspoon, age 87 of Webb City, Missouri, went to meet her Lord and Savior, December 30, 2019.

She was born in Joplin, Missouri on July 21, 1932 to John Atlas and Charlotte (Burns) Oliver.

Anne graduated from Alba High School in 1950 and married Don L. Witherspoon on December 2, 1951. He passed away on January 11, 1998. She lived in Purcell, Missouri for 40 years before moving to Webb City, Missouri in 2001. Anne was a charter member of Christ’s Church of Oronogo where she attended for over 60 years.

Anne had worked at the U.S. Naval Hospital in San Diego, California from 1953-1955 and retired in 1994 from the Webb City School District Superintendent’s office after 26 years.








Survivors include three daughters, Pam Kramer (Jerry), Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Patti Bearden (Steve), Webb City, Missouri, and Paula Stanley (Alan), Joplin, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Christy Davis (Ted), Trego, Wisconsin, Nikki Washington (Kevin), Katie Kramer, Austin Howard all of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Emily Korman (Jenka), Joplin, Missouri, Eric Bearden (Katie), Nixa, Missouri, Alyson Scott (Kelly), Webb City, Missouri, and Preston Stanley (Sarah), North Liberty, Indiana; 10 great grandchildren, Hanna, Jacob and Rebekah Davis, Jack Washington, Jenson and Ben Korman, Amelia Define, Camden and Brecken Bearden and Cyrus Scott; one great great grandchild, Noah Resch; two sisters, Sandra Carter, Sugarland, Texas, Janice Musgrove, Brookshire, Texas; three brothers, John Oliver (Lori), Rosenberg, Texas, Robert Oliver (Edwina), Prattville, Alabama, Bill Oliver (Cheryl) Phoenix, Arizona; one sister-in-law, Nadine (Witherspoon) Boyer (Cloyd), Webb City, Missouri, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Those gentlemen honoring her life by serving as pallbearers will be, Eric Bearden, Jenka Korman, Austin Howard, Kelly Scott, Kevin Washington, and Mickey Carter.

Visitation will be at Hedge-Lewis-Goodwin Funeral Home Thursday January 2, 2020 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be at Christ’s Church of Oronogo Friday January 3, 2020 at 11:00 am with Ken Ansley officiating. Burial will be at Friends Cemetery in Purcell, Missouri.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to Christ’s Church of Oronogo and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
