Ethel Joan Jones, age 90, Webb City, passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin.
Ethel was born June 19, 1929 in Rose, New York, daughter of the late John Roy Caywood and Bernice M. Dana Caywood. She grew up one of 12 children, and moved to Missouri as a child. She worked for years as a nurse's aide at local hospitals, and nursing homes. She attended Empire Mission in Galena, Kansas, and had a strong faith.
In addition to her parents, Ethel was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Jones, who passed away on March 24, 2000; a son, Randy Wayne Burwell; and thirteen siblings.
Survivors include her children, Roy Burwell (Linda) of Farmersville, Texas, Linda Case (Gary) of Baxter Springs, Kansas, Carolyn McReynolds of Jacksonville, Illinois, Gene Jones of Valley Center, Kansas, Lois Fields (William) of Webb City; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Open viewing will be from 12:00 p.m. Friday until 6:00 p.m. Sunday at Parker Mortuary. Cremation will follow, and her ashes will be buried next to her husband in Lanagan Cemetery at a later date.
