Linda Mayfield

Linda Ann (Tamminen) Mayfield, age 73, went home to be with Jesus on January 27, 2020.

Linda, daughter of the late Wayne Tamminen and Frankie Warren, was born in Webb City on October 7, 1946. She was a graduate of Webb City High School.Linda worked at Motorola for many years, until the company closed. She then had the opportunity to go to college. She truly enjoyed attending classes. She made many new friends and would hold study groups. 

At the age of 53, she graduated from MSSU in May of 2000. Her family was so very proud of her and this major accomplishment. After graduating, she began working at Webster Elementary in Webb City as a Title I instructional assistant. She absolutely loved her students and helping them learn.

Linda married the love of her life, Gary (Mayf) Mayfield, on November 26, 1965. He survives. They had two children, Kim Mayfield and Gary (Scoot/Scoob) Mayfield, both of Webb City and two granddaughters, Reagan and Jordyn. They were the light of her life. She loved being a nana. 








She is also survived by her six siblings, Bobby (Jean) Palmer, Patty Palmer, Brenda (Bud, deceased) Hulderman, her beloved twin, Larry (Barbara) Tamminen, Terri (Rodney) Edwards, and Tracy (Teresa) Warren. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, neighbors, and her church family.

Linda and her husband attended First Christian Church in Webb City. She loved Jesus and was active in her church. She definitely had a gift for gab and never met a stranger. She enjoyed flea marketing with her husband and was well known for her garage sales. She brought so much joy to so many lives. 

A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Those who so desire may make memorial donations to the First Christian Church.
