Robert Luther "Robbie" Richards, age 59, Joplin, passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2020.
Robbie was born September 10, 1960 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, son of the late Calvin E. Richards, and Martha A. Tussey Richards of Kimberling City, Missouri. He graduated from Diamond High School in 1978, and worked for Appliance Rental in sales, also at King Press, and most recently he was working for Shoal Creek Plaza. He was a veteran of the United States Army where he served following high school.
He married Brenda Wright, she preceded him in death on June 26, 2018.
In addition to his wife and father, Robbie was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Richards, and his mother and father-in-law, Rev. Freddie and Oletta Wright.
Survivors include his mother, Martha Ann Richards of Kimberling City, Missouri, daughter, Ashley Richards Nickell and husband Tyler; son, Robert Chad Richards; four grandchildren, all of Lincoln, Nebraska; a brother, Calvin Richards of Hayes, Kansas; a sister, Marla Cook-Hazen and husband Bob of Lampe, Missouri; brother-in-law, David Wright and wife Karen of Lunenburg, Massachusetts; sister-in-law, Pamela Backerman and husband Jim of Joplin; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
