Betty M. Dally, recently passed away at the age of 89 in Denver, CO, on January 12, 2020.
She was born on January 15, 1930. Her parents were J. Howard and Mildred Hill (both deceased) and had two brothers Wallace and Melvin (both deceased). Webster City, Iowa was her place of birth and childhood.
Irvin C. Dally was her husband (deceased 1976), they were married in Iowa. Together they had three sons, John (deceased 1979), Timothy, and Michael. She attended Ozark Christian College.
For several years she worked at College Press in Joplin, MO directing warehouse activities and had some editing responsibility. She was devoted to family and had a child, John, with special needs that she cared for 24 years. She had a passion for the local church and youth ministry. For many years she was faithful and loving to children and students in a teaching and mentoring role in multiple churches.
Her husband was a minister at churches in Milford, MO, Baxter Springs, KS, and Joplin, MO. She worked alongside her husband, Irvin, in revivals across the Midwest as both music and children’s evangelist. She also was director of Vacation Bible Schools and Sunday Schools, led children’s choirs and musicals, and led adult worship in the churches she and her husband served. She was a Cub Scout pack leader, PTA president, and recognized by the community for her role as a parent. When she was young she loved to dance and roller-skate. She loved to spend time and play games with her grandchildren.
Betty is survived by her two sons and their families with grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her son Timothy is married to Elaine and they live in Los Angeles, CA. They have four children and six grandchildren. Her son Michael is married to Lisa and they live in Denver, CO. They have four children and four grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister-in-law and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will take place at the Blendville Christian Church located at 22nd and Pitcher, Joplin on Friday, January 24th at 1.30 pm with a visitation time starting at 12.30 pm.
In lieu of flowers, gifts will be accepted by the family for funeral arrangements.
