Bill Hogelin

William E. “Bill” Hogelin, passed away at 10:54 a.m., Tuesday, January 28, 2020 surrounded by his loved ones at Good Samaritan Nursing Home. He would have celebrated his 99th birthday on June 21, 2020.

Bill was born and raised in Mound Valley, KS and was married to Joyce Dailey Hogelin for 65 years before her passing in 2008. With his wife at his side, he enjoyed square dancing, riding horses with the SEK Mounted Posse, the Altamont Saddle Club and the Big Hill Riders; He also enjoyed water skiing with his family. Bill was known as a baseball and softball coach, as well as a Boy Scout leader. Before owning and operating Midland Termite and Pest Control, for 20 years, he was a successful salesman for Swift Ice Cream, Montgomery Ward Tire Sales, Terminex and Orkin Pest Companies. After retirement Bill opened a small engine repair shop in his garage.

Bill was a proud WWII soldier, serving in Europe as part of the 35th Infantry Division from 1942-1945.








Bill is survived by his five children: Elton “Stub” Hogelin of Magnolia Texas, Sherry and husband Bob Dean of Omaha Nebraska, Bill and wife Carol Hogelin of Parsons Kansas, Jimmy Hogelin and fiancĂ© Christi Peterson of Joplin Missouri, Connie and husband Alex Stankewsky of Lenexa Kansas. Bill loved children, especially his numerous grand and great grand children who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his wife Joyce, brother John Irvin and sister Evelyn.

Graveside services for Bill will be held at 1:30 P.M. Thursday, January 30, 2020 at the patio at Memorial Lawn Cemetery, where burial will follow.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 until leaving in procession for the cemetery at 1:15. Memorials are suggested to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice; these may be mailed to Carson Wall Funeral Home, P.O. Box 942, Parsons, KS 67357. Online condolences may be left at www.wallfuneralservices.com.
