Betty Gibson

Betty Sue Gibson was born September 29, 1938 in Crane, Missouri, one of four children to Dovis and Fern (Eshom) Parsons. She entered into rest on January 28, 2020 in Joplin, following an illness at the age of 81.

Betty moved to Neosho as a child and graduated from Neosho High School in 1956. She was a homemaker and had worked as a cashier at Sale Memorial Hospital, now Freeman Neosho Hospital and then worked at Scholastic. She enjoyed sewing, crafts, was an excellent cook, but her family was her first priority. She was a member of the Northside Baptist Church. 

Betty and Bob Gibson were married on July 28, 1956 in Neosho and they shared 63 years together. 








In addition to her husband, Bob, she is survived by two children, Jeff Gibson and wife, Ellen of Joplin and Cheryl Price of Springfield; four grandchildren, Emily Tracy, Sara Robertson, Courtney Price and Camille Price; five great grandchildren, Abigail, Stella, Opal, Ada and Will and a brother, Dick Parsons of Granby. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, Robert Parsons and sister, Barbara Cummins.
