Sue Carlile Schmidt, age 60, Joplin, passed away at 9:21 p.m. Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at Freeman West Hospital.
Sue was born December 20, 1959 in Fort Worth, Texas to the late Jesse M. Carlile and Elva Ruth Aaron Faulkinburg and had lived in Joplin for several years.
Sue worked as an RN at East Texas Medical Center for several years. She was a faithful member of Faith Baptist Church in Joplin and was co-creator of Castle of Faith, a Christian Blog, which drew thousands of viewers weekly.
Sue enjoyed art; reading and spending time with her family. She will be missed by everyone that knew her.
In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Dirk and a brother, Joseph Wayne Carlile.
Survivors include two children, Gary Martin and wife, Heather, Tarah Castleberry and husband, Andrew; siblings, Cathy Williams, Jesse Carlile, James Carlile; grandchildren, Isaiah, Lalana, Kayla; and many nieces, nephews; grand nieces and nephews; and several adopted children and grandchildren.
Graveside services are planned for Saturday, January 25 at 10:00 a.m. at Price Chapel Cemetery, Montalba, Texas. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary Chapel.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
