Gregory Steven Lumpkins, age 47, Webb City, passed away at 9:17 a.m. Sunday, January 19, 2020 from injuries he sustained in a one vehicle car accident earlier that morning.
Greg was born June 30, 1972 in Joplin and had lived in the Joplin area all of his life.
A contractor by trade, he had worked in the construction business for many years. He had worked for several years at Bill's Drive-In, where he made several lifelong friendships. Greg was also a skilled 'heat and air' guy and was known for his detailed and quality workmanship.
When not working, Greg served as a youth wrestling coach in Neosho and Carl Junction for his son. He was a past member of Frisco Church and had recently re-confirmed his relationship with his Lord by being baptized at Racine Apostolic Church.
Greg enjoyed race cars; animals; the outdoors; throwing darts and playing pool. He had an artistic side that allowed him to make interesting things out of almost nothing. Greg was very much loved and will be missed by everyone that knew him.
He is survived by two children, Skylar Lumpkins and Sidney Lumpkins, both of Carl Junction; his mother, Kathie Buckner; his father, George Buckner; siblings, Crystal Buckner, Carterville, Cynthia Hilburn, Pittsburg, Kansas; and many aunts; uncles; nieces and nephews, including George Buckner.
Memorial services are planned for Saturday 2:00 p.m. at Frisco Church, 908 Daugherty Street, Webb City, Missouri. Pastors Steve Epley and Joel Dorris will officiate.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
