Ruby Showalter

Ruby Faye Showalter was born September 1, 1929, one of four children to Oscar and Nellie Bowman. She entered into rest on January 17, 2020 at her home in Granby, following a short illness at the age of 90.

Ruby graduated from Purdy High School and was a lifelong area resident. She had worked at Granby City Hall as clerk and then as collector for eighteen years. Her family was her priority and she also enjoyed taking care of her dogs. She was a former member of the Granby Forum Club and a member of the Granby Church of God and had taught adult Bible Studies for many years. 

Ruby married Delbert Frank Showalter, Jr. on September 2, 1952 and he preceded her in death on January 22, 1979. 








She is survived by three children, Cheryl Ping and husband, John of Diamond, Joe Showalter of Granby and Paul Showalter of Monett; two grandchildren, Caleb Ping and Shara Ping and a step brother, Don Smith of Purdy. 

In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her step-mother, Lottie Bowman and brother, Winfred Bowman and sisters, Gladys Tubbs and Jewell Winton.
