Gary Wayne Whitley, Neosho, MO passed away January 19, 2020 at the age of 68. He was born November 8, 1951 in Lamar, MO to Howard and Clyta (Pirtle) Whitley.
Gary worked as an automobile mechanic. He enjoyed working on cars, collecting Hot Wheels and Coca-Cola antiques, and refinishing old furniture.
He and Renee (Wilson) Whitley were married May 27, 1986 in Miami, OK; she survives of the home.
Gary is also survived by his mother, Clyta Whitley; two children, Mark Whitley and wife, Holly of Neosho and Tracey Whitley of Joplin; one sister, Luann Flynn of South Fork, PA; seven grandchildren; and one great grandchild. Gary was preceded in death by his father, Howard Whitley.
A Celebration of Life gathering will begin at 3:00 pm, Sunday, February 2, 2020 at First Christian Church, 1208 Walnut, Lamar, MO. Please wear your favorite sports team attire in honor of Gary.
