Sheryl Lewis

Sheryl Ann Lewis, age 62, Joplin, passed away at 10:58 a.m. Saturday, January 18, 2020 at her home after an illness.

Sheryl was born July 11, 1957 in Maywood, California to the late Wayne Phillips and Maryann Williams Phillips and had lived in Joplin most of her life.

A homemaker, Sheryl had worked at the former Wagon Wheel and Colonel's Pancake House before she started babysitting in her home. Sheryl volunteered for over thirty years for various organizations, including the Special Olympics and the Shriner's Children's Hospital.

She and her husband enjoyed photographing dirt track racing and spent many weekends at the former 66 Speedway. She was the number one fan of '25 S'. She loved her family with all her heart and will be missed by everyone that knew her.

Sheryl married Carl Lewis on June 17, 1994 at Bassman Field in Joplin. He survives at the home.










Additional survivors include two sons, Michael Judd and his fiancé, Jennifer Burkhart, Brian Judd and wife, Adrainne, all of Joplin; a daughter, Christina Meadows, Springfield; a sister, Teresa Ray and husband, Walter; a brother, Kenny Phillips and wife, Bobbie; grandchildren, Trenten, Christopher, Journey, Catherine, Bralin, Brecken, Nick, Ashley; one great grandchild, Unique; and many other extended family members. A special thanks to Belinda Webb and Pam Mounce, her lifelong friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack and Robert Phillips.

Services are planned for Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Parker Mortuary Chapel. Jeff St. Clair will officiate. Interment will follow at Carterville Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 6-7:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary. Pallbearers will be Michael Judd, Trenten Judd, Shannon Phillips, Zach Phillips, Nick Hoffman and Austin Phillips.

Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
