Freda Allene Darnell of Miami, OK passed from this life Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at Integris Miami Hospital in Miami, OK. She was 97.
Freda was born October 16, 1922 in Afton, OK to Marvin and Lula Marie (Chaney) Darnell. She was a 1941 graduate of Afton High School. She had lived in Miami since 1944.
Freda was a bookkeeper for Leonard's Garage in Miami for many years and later was a nurse's aide at Miami Baptist Hospital in Miami. She attended the First Assembly of God Church in Miami.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 brother, Marion Darnell and 1 sister, Naomi Jean Coffey.
Freda is survived by 1 nephew, Randy Mathia and his wife Lucy of Miami, OK, 1 niece, Judy Wachter and her husband Bruce of Granby, MO and 6 great nieces and nephews, Amanda Pal and her husband Joe of Miami, OK, Benjamin Wachter and his wife Whitney of Nashville, TN, Michelle McCorkell and her husband Tim of Commerce, OK, Misti Pruitt and her husband Gary of Commerce, OK, Rachel Hackler and her husband Eric of Poteau, OK and Jill McIntire and her husband Jessee of Miami, OK.
Gravesidee services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 25, 2020 at G.A.R. Cemetery in Miami, OK with Rev. Raymond Frizzelle officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Friday evening at Paul Thomas Funeral Home Chapel in Miami, OK. Services have been placed in the care of Paul Thomas Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Miami, OK.
