Mrs. Mildred Muriel Katzfey, 89, of LaRussell, Missouri departed this life on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at the Sarcoxie Nursing Center in Sarcoxie, Missouri.
Mildred entered this life on September 27, 1930 in rural Jasper County to the union of the late James and Muriel (Whitehead) Brock. Most of her early childhood was spent in the St. Louis area as the family moved back and forth for work opportunities during the depression. She later returned to attend and graduate from Sarcoxie High School.
On October 1, 1949 she was united in marriage to Francis Katzfey, together they shared fifty five years until his passing on February 14, 2005. The first ten years of their marriage they resided in the Sarcoxie area. During this time she worked for Juvenile Shoe. Later she and Francis moved to St. Peters, Missouri and resided there for the remainder of their marriage. Mildred later returned to the area, making LaRussell, Missouri her home. She was an artist and very creative.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Donald Katzfey; and brother, Donald Brock.
Mildred is survived by her daughter-in-law, Diane Katzfey, of Plattsburgh, New York; grandchildren, Joseph Katzfey (Amanda), of Carthage, Missouri and Bethany Katzfey, of Plattsburgh, New York; two great-grandsons, Hudson and Maddox Katzfey, of Carthage, Missouri; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; as well as a host of other family and friends.
Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Katzfey are 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 20, 2020 at St. Agnes Cemetery, Sarcoxie, with Father Matthew Rehrauer officiating.
