Norma Jean Parks was born August 1, 1930 in Newtonia, Missouri, one of nine children to Felix and Mable Essie (Barker) Wright. She entered into rest on January 30, 2020, following an extended illness at the age of 89 years, 5 months and 20 days.
Norma Jean was a lifelong area resident and a homemaker. She attended the Church of Hope in Neosho. Norma Jean and Willis Q. Parks were married in Neosho, Missouri and he preceded her in death on October 11, 1980.
She is survived by four children, Willie Parks of Neosho, Katrina Wright of Neosho, Ann James of Kansas City, Missouri and Lynn James of Kansas City, Missouri; one brother, Erron (Betty) Wright of Joplin; one sister-in-law, Elaine Wright of Carthage; eleven grandchildren and twenty one great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by two daughters, Christina Johnson and Georgeannia Wright; five sisters, Betty Sue, Anna Belle, Maydene, Mickey and Jacqueline; and two brothers, J.C. Wright and Jerry Wright.
