Phyllis Jean Staab, 83, of Reeds, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at Joplin Health and Rehabilitation Center in Joplin, Missouri.
Phyllis was born on September 10, 1936 in Reeds, Missouri, daughter of the late Alvin E. and Grace Marie (Kimberlin) Huff. She attended Reeds Elementary School and was a 1954 graduate of Sarcoxie High School. She later attended Draughon Business College.
On May 3, 1959 she was united in marriage to Merlin A. Staab. Together they shared fifty eight years until his passing on January 20, 2018.
For several years she worked as a bookkeeper for several car dealerships, as well as Postmaster reserve for the Reeds post office. She enjoyed gardening and working on the family farm.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sister, Joyce A. Archer.
Phyllis is survived by her children, Michael Staab and wife, Jenifer, of Halltown, Missouri and Regina Wallace and husband, Wayne, of Plano, Texas; two granddaughters, Morgan Staab and Samantha Staab; one great granddaughter, Ashlee; and one brother, Gene Huff and wife, Jan, of Reeds, Missouri; as well as a host of other family and friends.
Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Staab are 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 16, 2020 at Dudman Cemetery, Carthage, Missouri, with Pastor Scott Stone officiating. In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorial contributions to the Lafayette House in care of the funeral home.
