Duane Kerr

Billy Duane Kerr, age 85, of Bethpage, Missouri, departed this life January 1, 2020 surrounded by his loving family.

Duane was born October 15, 1934 to Ovan and Grace "Pogue" Kerr at Stella, Missouri.

He graduated from Rocky Comfort High School in 1952. After graduation, he moved to Wichita, Kansas and worked for Coleman Heating. He also served in Army National Guard from 1952-1960. In 1955 he moved to Kansas City, Missouri and was employed at Central Armature Electric Company. He was united in marriage to Shirley (Cox) Kerr on February 5, 1956 and to this union came a son and daughter. In July 1965 they moved to their farm in Bethpage, Missouri where he currently resided. Upon moving to Bethpage, Duane worked at Reco in Noel, Missouri and later in Lowell, Arkansas where he worked until his retirement.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Ovena Green and JoAnn Talley; brothers Jerry Kerr and Bobby Kerr; and sister-in-law Delores Bowman.










He is survived by his wife Shirley of sixty-four years; two children, Mike Kerr and wife, Shelly, and Kim Wolff and husband Kelly; grandchildren, Harrison Kerr and Alexandra Kerr; and seven step-grandchildren. Survivors also include siblings, Jim Bowman, Wanna Lou Orth (Keith), Linda Poe (Jack), brother-in-law Louis Talley; as well as many special nieces and nephews; also surviving is the mother of their grandchildren, Robin Kerr.

Duane was a member of Union Chapel Church where he also served as a board member and sang in the choir and specials with his wife. For the last nine years he attended Living Word Mission Church where he was a faithful member. Duane loved his farm and cattle and making gardens, but most of all he loved his family. The love of his life Shirley was his caregiver for the last nine years.

Funeral services are 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 6, 2020 in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes with Pastors Billy Jo Gentry and Mark Sumler officiating with Alex and Harrison Kerr delivering the eulogy. Burial will follow in the Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon from 2-4:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
