Evelyn Jenelle Darden was born August 13, 1927 in Letona, Arkansas, the daughter of William and Ethel (Bruce) Holcomb. She entered into rest on Sunday, February 9, 2020 in Neosho, following an extended illness at the age of 92.
Evelyn was a graduate of Searcy High School, class of 1946 and moved to the Neosho area in 1964 from Biloxi, Mississippi. Evelyn worked alongside her husband, Will at Darden Motors for forty nine years. She enjoyed listening to gospel music and attending the sporting events of her grandchildren. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Neosho.
Evelyn and Will Darden were married on Feb. 28, 1948 in Malvern, Arkansas and he preceded her in death on Nov. 30, 2013.
She is survived by three children, Carol Clark of Neosho, JoAnn Bickell and husband, Jimmy of Holts Summit, Missouri and John Darden of Neosho; eleven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Kay Smith.
