Chip Hawkins

Larry Franklin "Chip" Hawkins, III, age 38, Joplin, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2020 at his home.

Chip was born January 28, 1982 in Lebanon, Missouri, son of the late Larry F. Hawkins, Jr. "Pops" and Theresa Lynn Young Hawkins of Joplin. He attended Joplin Schools, graduating from Joplin High School in 2000. He was a mechanic since he was a child, working with his dad on race cars for years. He enjoyed his time both working on cars and racing them at MO-KAN.








Survivors include his mother, Theresa Hawkins of Joplin; brothers, Jonathan Hawkins (Brenna) of Bentonville, Arkansas, Dustin Hawkins (Shawndra) of Joplin; sister, Brittany Hawkins (Robert Leete) of Neosho, Missouri; grandmother, Bonnie Camby of Grove Springs, Missouri; nieces and nephews, Serenity Hawkins, Brayden Hawkins, Korbyn Hawkins, Hunter Hawkins, Violet Hawkins, Jonathan "JJ" Hawkins, Jr., and Hailey Boyd; numerous cousins, and many friends.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date at the Alono Club, 1800 E. 30th Street, Joplin.
