Melvin Johnson

(From Simpson Funeral Home)

Melvin Dale Johnson, 90, known to most as ‘Shorty’ or ‘Grandpa’ passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday, February 22nd. He spent his last moments the way he spent his entire life, surrounded by family and loved ones.

Melvin retired from Eagle-Pitcher Technologies, where he worked for over 42 years. He was a lifelong supporter of Webb City athletics and dedicated many years to coaching & umpiring youth baseball, softball, basketball & football.

One of his favorite things to do was serving on the Chain Crew on Friday nights, which he did for more than four decades. His heart was as big as his personality and Grandpa never met a stranger. A loyal and loving family man, our foundation.

He leaves his wife of 68 years Ann Johnson, daughter Glenda Clemons & husband Mike Clemons, daughter Terrie Streur & husband Joseph Streur, son Kevin Johnson, Granddaughter Stacy Randolph and partner Michelle Ellis, grandson Chad Plummer and wife Tami, grandson Randy Randolph and wife Bari, grandson Kory Johnson and wife Britney, granddaughter Kelsey Lewis and husband Jay, Great-grandchildren Ashley, Chase, Sadie, Aaleah, Bailey, Payton, Emi, Lake and Breckyn and Great-great-grandson Mackson.
