Jackie Camerer

Jacqueline (Jackie) Camerer, 86, Granby, MO entered into rest February 22, 2020 after a few months of declining health. 

She was born December 26, 1933 in rural McDonald County to Ernie and Ruby (Lamb) Carter. Jackie was a lifelong resident of the Granby area and was the Old Mining Town Honorary Citizen in 1996. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Granby, the Gingham Girls of Granby, a founder of the Lead Town Investment Club, and loved going on trips as a member of the Neosho area Widow to Widow Group. 

Jackie worked 55 years in the Granby/East Newton School District; first as a secretary for 40 years, then as the Food Services Director for 15 years. 

She married Charles Richard Camerer on June 16, 1950 in Granby and enjoyed 60 years of marriage before his death on January 22, 2010. 








Jackie is survived by three children, Jera Swartz and husband, Gary of Granby, MO, Lynn Camerer and wife, Kathy of Elephant Butte, NM, and Janet Camerer of Grove, OK; one brother, Jerry Carter and wife, Judy of Granby; one sister-in-law, Ruth Carter; eight grandchildren, Jerod Swartz and wife, Staci, Amber Gallemore, Caleb Camerer, Rose Swaffar and husband, Tyler, Dustin Oxendine and wife, Ciaira, Katy Green and husband, Mitchell, Tory Keefer and husband, Grant, and Laramie Camerer and fiancĂ©, Sara; and twelve great grandchildren, Sam, Jaelyn, Rylea, Jeran, Breckyn, Gage, Brynlea, Easton, Finn, Teddy, Charli Kate, and June. 

She was preceded in death by one brother, Max Carter and two sisters, Betty Bunch and Sue James. Services will be 10 am, Friday, February 28, 2020 at Clark Funeral Home, Granby Chapel, Granby MO, with Rev. Doug Gripka, Rev. Russ Johnson, and Gary Copeland officiating. 

Interment will follow at Granby Memorial Cemetery, Granby, MO. Grandsons, Jerod Swartz, Caleb Camerer, Dustin Oxendine, Mitchell Green, Grant Keefer, Laramie Camerer, Sam Swartz, and Tyler Swaffar will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be 5 – 7 pm, Thursday, Feb. 27 at the Clark Funeral Home, Granby, MO. The casket will be closed after visitation, to remain closed. 

 In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in honor of Jacqueline be made to Barbara McNeely Scholarship Fund, c/o Clark Funeral Home, PO Box 26; Granby, MO 64844.
