Tuffy Marshall

Howard Gene “Tuffy” Marshall, age 77, of Virgil City, MO, went to be with the Lord on February 5, 2020, surrounded by his family in his home. He was born February 27, 1942, in Virgil City, one of eight children born to George and Cathleen Marshall.

Tuffy attended grade school in Virgil City and graduated from El Dorado Springs High School in 1960. He married Marge Marshall on December 9, 1977, and together they raised seven children and twelve grandchildren. They also have thirteen great-grandchildren with two more on the way.

Tuffy accepted the Lord as his savior and was baptized in 2006 in Schell City, MO. He was a truck driver and then retired from Mid Am. He hauled milk for forty years. Tuffy loved farming and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a diehard Kansas City Royals and Kansas City Chiefs fan.








Survivors include his wife, Marge Marshall, of the home; children: Pam Hamilton (Stanley) of Climax Springs, MO, Randy Marshall of El Dorado Springs, Gena Marshall (Brad) of Sparta, MO, Misty Hogenson (Matt) of Cape Fair, MO, Terri True (Dennis) of Lamar, MO, Tania Molz (Steve) of El Dorado Springs, and Mary Marshall of Winfield, KS; twelve grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; siblings: Donna Gail (Richard) Watkins, Madeline Parrish, Melvin (Frances) Marshall, Dixie Haler, Bill Marshall, Mike (Evelyn) Marshall, and Carolyn (Milton) McGuire; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding Tuffy in death were his parents; nephews, Kevin Parrish and Gray Calvin; and brothers-in-law, Junior Parrish and Bill Haler.

A funeral service for Tuffy Marshall was held Saturday, February 8, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. at Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home with Rev. Brent Bland and Rev. John Koch officiating. Interment followed at Virgil City Cemetery under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were: Jayden Sekscinski, Justin Sekscinski, Jeremiah Marshall, Jase Hamilton, Jared Hamilton, Jesse Coleman, Kyle Burk, Lakyn Coleman, Tori Burk, Josh Garver, and Jereston Brinigar. Honorary pallbearers were: Caitlin True, Colleen True, Mark White, Don Williams, Dennis Woody, Shannon Rains, and Donnie Burchett.
