Sandra Miller

(From Clark Funeral Home)

Sandra Jenean (Filsinger) Miller, 74, Diamond, went to heaven on February 27, 2020 peacefully in the comfort of her home with her husband and daughter by her side, following an eight week illness. No more wonderful mother and wife has ever passed through the gates of heaven.

Sandra was born Nov. 30, 1945 in Diamond, the daughter of Roscoe and Edna Hamilton. She enjoyed an active childhood in the company of four equally rambunctious youngsters. Her brothers, Ronnie, David and Mike and her dearly beloved sister, Joyce traveled to the west coast for a while, but came back to Missouri to settle down.

On June 8, 1963, Jenean married a multi-talented, hard-working young man named Gary Filsinger. From this union came a lovely lass they named Deronda. She fondly remembers today their many adventures on the motorcycles they all loved to ride. Her mom even won a powder puff derby in a dragster! Who Knew??? Of course, after they settled down a bit, Jenean and Gary became the rock that so many relied on during their tenures as ministers for the Wesleyan Holiness Church at Tulsa, OK, Dennis, KS and Wichita, KS (17 years) and finally at Diamond.

Gary relied on Jenean for all those many tasks that preacher’s wives find in their care. She never failed to keep the focus on her husband’s ministry as she found the resources (and sometimes the courage) to keep the train on the track until his untimely death on July 9, 2009. She also worked as a bookkeeper in Parsons, KS for several years, a job she loved.

In February 2011, Jenean married Joe Miller, a very lucky man she made very happy these past nine years.

In addition to her husband, Jenean is survived by her daughter, Deronda Aiken of Wichita, KS; one brother, Ronald (Fran) Hamilton of Independence, KS and one sister, Joyce (John) Sterbenz of Riverton, KS.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers, David and Mike Hamilton.

Services will be held on Monday, March 2, 2020 at 2 pm at the Clark Funeral Home Granby Chapel, Rev. Danny Perryman and Rev. Ivan Hazelwood will officiate. Interment will follow in the Diamond Cemetery and serving as pallbearers will be Arlen Hamilton, Monte Hamilton, Todd Hamilton, Edward Miller, Stephen Miller and Philip Shimp and honorary pallbearers, Danny Hunter and Raymond Rash.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2 -3 pm at the Clark Funeral Home, Granby. Contributions in memory of Jenean may be made to Integrity Hospice, c/o Clark Funeral Home, PO Box 26, Granby, MO 64844.
