Billie Lammers

Billie Rose Piette Lammers, age 94, Joplin, passed away at 1:10 p.m. Friday, February 14, 2020 at Mercy Hospital after an illness.

Billie was born August 27, 1925 in Baxter Springs, Kansas to the late William Parrent and Rozella B. Marshall Sandtorf Parrent and had lived in the Joplin area most of her life.

Billie worked as a certified public secretary for many years at the Spiva Center for the Arts, Austin Realty and Missouri Southern State University. She was active with the Red Cross and regularly served as an election official in Southwest Missouri. Billie did her civil service duties as a young woman, serving both state side and abroad. It was there she met her first husband, Eugene. She was a former member of Bethany Presbyterian Church. Billie loved spending time with her family and will be missed by everyone that knew her.

In addition to her parents, Billie was preceded in death by two husbands, Eugene Henry Piette and Ernest Galon Lammers; and two sisters.








Survivors include her children, John Henry Piette, Humble, Texas, Sally Goebel, Joplin, William Eugene Piette, Newton County, Missouri; eight grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren.

Services are planned for Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary. Interment will follow at Messer Cemetery, Galena, Kansas. Pallbearers will be Wales Aldridge, Jeremiah Piette, Bradley Piette, Warren Aldridge, Blaine Wandrer and Mike Vogler. The family will receive friends Monday from 6-7:00 p.m. at Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Stroke Association, or to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, both in care of Parker Mortuary.

Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
