Kathryn Lorene Horton of Racine, MO formerly of Miami, OK passed from this life Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at her home. She was 95.
Kathryn was born April 23, 1924 in Verdigris, OK to Pete and Dottie Jean (Martin) McGarrah. She had lived in Racine for 8 months and had lived in the Miami area most of her life. She was a homemaker and worked in foster care with unwed mothers and the elderly. She was a member of the Apostolic Lighthouse Church in Racine, MO.
Kathryn was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence Eugene Horton, April 17, 2000, 1 son Calvin Horton, her parents, 2 brothers Orville McGarrah and Laverne McGarrah, 3 sisters Fern Sampson, Arretta Curtis and Cloe Walters.
Survivors include 2 sons Roy Horton and wife Sarah of Racine, MO, Gary Horton and wife Trisha of Miami, OK, 3 daughters Betty Welch of Anderson, MO, Kathy Garza of Lafayette, GA and Cindy Summers and husband Mike of Chickamauga, GA, 13 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and several great – great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 28, 2020 at the Apostolic Lighthouse Church in Racine, MO. Rev. Kelly Sampson, Rev. Gary Horton and Rev. Gary Jones will officiate. Interment will follow in Glen Abbey Memorial Gardens in Miami, OK. The family will receive friends from 10-11:00 a.m. prior to the services at the church. Services have been placed in the care of Paul Thomas Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Miami, OK.
