Wanda M. “Jordan” Williams, 82, passed away Sunday, February 23, 2020 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin. Wanda was born August 20, 1937 in Racine, MO to Earl Walter and Viola Mae “Christman” Jordan. She was a Carthage resident since 1970 and a member of Victory Baptist Church of Carthage. Before retiring, she worked at Sweet Williams Restaurant.
Wanda was united in marriage to Cleaton “Babe” Williams on September 22, 1972 in Miami, OK; he preceded her in death in 1992.
Wanda is survived by one son, Earl “Gene” Crook of Salina, KS; one daughter, Marcia “Crook” Grundy and husband J.W. “Dub” of Carthage; two brothers, Robert Jordan of Carthage and James “Leroy” Jordan of Oronogo; one sister, Helen Jeffers of Webb City; four grandchildren, Christa, Jeromy, Jolissa and Kenzie; eight great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Wanda was preceded in death by three brothers, Walter Jordan, Carl Ray Jordan and Marvin Jordan; four sisters Lois Foster, Inez Scott, Hazel Banks and Virginia Prigg.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 28, 2020 at Victory Baptist Church, 9871 County Lane 117 in Carthage. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, February 27, 2020 at Ulmer Funeral Home. Burial will be at Park Cemetery in Carthage. Contributions may be made to Victory Baptist Church in care of Ulmer Funeral Home.
