Cheryl Ann Ross, 62 of Quapaw, OK left to go to her forever home Sunday February 9th 2020. She was born September 2nd, 1957.
Cheryl resided in Quapaw for the past decade while her heart remained in Picher, where she graduated from Picher-Cardin High School in 1975. Also in 1975, she married her husband of 45 years. Cheryl grew up in Cardin, OK where she attended Cardin Baptist Church, played softball and was a Picher Gorilla Cheerleader. She later attended NEO A&M. Cheryl retired from Picher-Cardin High School, where she was a teacher’s aide. Her life in Picher touched many lives where she was a volunteer EMT and pianist at Picher First Baptist Church.
Cheryl is preceded in death by one son Matthew Lee Ross and her father Bill Hansford.
Survivors include her husband, Rick Ross of Quapaw and son Heath Ross of Joplin. Her mother, Pat Hansford, of Norman, OK, formerly of Cardin, OK, Carol Hansford of Norman, OK and Renae Cole of Miami, OK. One nephew John Carroll of Norman, OK her nieces Kassie Carroll-Downey of Norman, OK and Caitlin Case of Quapaw, OK. Cheryl also leaves behind a great niece Britton Love, great nephew Landon Blue and so many cousins. Rowdy, she and Rick’s German Shepherd also resides at the home.
