Ben Knight

Benjamin B. Knight was born October 3, 1937 in Wheaton, Missouri, one of five children to Ora and Luella (Bunnell) Knight. He entered into rest on February 18, 2020 in Joplin, following a sudden illness at the age of 82.

Ben was a lifelong area resident and graduated from Fairview High School in 1957. He served in the U.S. Army, 1958-1960 during the Korean Conflict as a teletype operator. He owned and operated All American Transmission north of Neosho, retiring in 2006. Ben enjoyed fishing, repairing anything and working on cars. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Neosho and served as a deacon. 

Ben is survived by his wife, Esta, whom in married on July 16, 1960 in Miami, Oklahoma. 








In addition to Esta, he is survived by three children, Shirley (Mark) Champa of Overland Park, Kansas, Anthony (Sheila Hughes) Knight of Stark City, Missouri and Danni (Travis) Welch of Alma, Arkansas; eight grandchildren, Nicholas Weathers, Matthew (Megan) Weathers, Joey Weathers, Sean Knight, Katie Knight, Reo Knight, Aiden Knight and Julian Spears; five great grandchildren and one sister, Betty Duncan of Zephyr Springs, Florida. 

 In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers, George Wayne, Wynnfred and Edwin Knight.
