Peggy Lou Lyons of Joplin, Missouri passed from this life on February 10, 2020 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Missouri she was 89.
Peggy was born on October 17, 1930 in Welch, Oklahoma to Charles and Luzetta (Triplett) Waybright. She enjoyed making candy, peanut brittle, crocheting and cooking. She loved to teach bible school and was very active in the church. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Baxter Springs, Kansas.
She married Carl Neal Lyons in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, he preceded her death.
She is also preceded in death by her parents, one daughter Pamela Evans, one granddaughter Latrisha Dawn Hessee and a Great Grandson Phillip Wright; sibling, Violet Willard, Harold Waybright, Rod Waybright, and Dale Waybright.
Peggy is survived by one daughter, Debra Weston and husband Ron of Joplin, Missouri; son-in-law Ronnie Evans of Riverton, KS; two brothers Buck Waybright of Grass Valley, California and Bernard Waybright and wife Lana of Miami, Oklahoma. She is also survived by three grandchildren Travis Hessee, Adams Evans, Payden Evans and one great grandchild Laurel Evans.
Funeral services for Peggy will be 2:00 Thursday February 13, 2020 at Derfelt’s Baxter Chapel in Baxter Springs, Kansas. A visitation will be held from 1-2 pm before the service on Thursday. Pastor Harvey Wampler will officiate. Burial will be at Baxter Springs Cemetery, Baxter Springs, Kansas. In Lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to First Assembly of God Church Ladies Group in care of the funeral home. Pallbearers for the service are; Travis Hessee, Adam Evans, Payden Evans, Brian Waybright, Scott Waybright, Bob Hessee. The family has entrusted Derfelt’s Baxter Chapel for funeral services.
