John Fitzgerald Kennedy Schultz, age 55, Webb City, passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2020 at Webb City Health and Rehabilitation Center.
John was born November 8, 1964 in Kansas City, Missouri, son of the late James Gordon Schultz, Jr. and Pauline Delores Price Schultz. He grew up in the Kansas City area where he attended school before going to work. He worked as a chef at several local restaurants in the Kansas City area, worked with family in the scrapping business at a salvage yard, and worked in construction for years, mostly as a roofer. He loved being outdoors, whether fishing or grilling for family and friends. He was a huge Kansas City Chiefs fan but he especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He was known for his sense of humor and being uplifting. He will be greatly missed by many.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by three brothers, Steven Schultz, Brian Schultz, and Burke Jefferies.
Survivors include his children, Tara Smith of Liberty, Missouri, Mike Smith (Angel Marker) of Joplin, Travis Smith (Velshi) of Webb City, Amanda Wheeler (Ronald) of Independence, Missouri, Rachel Armstrong (Tony) of Blue Springs, Missouri, Jacob Trusty (Misty Haskins) of Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri, and Justin Trusty (Meagan) of Grandview, Missouri; 26 grandchildren; brothers, Jim Schultz, Rance Jefferies, Rick Schultz, and Tony Schultz (Jean) all of Independence, Missouri; sisters, Paula Williams (Joe) of Virginia Beach, Virginia, and Diana O'Mead (Omar); several nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be Saturday, February 8, 2020 at 4:00 p.m. at The Light at Joplin with Anthony Brazas officiating.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
