(From Paul Thomas Funeral Home)Barbara Ellen Johnston of Miami, OK went home to be with her Lord and Savior unexpectedly with her husband by her side Friday, June 25, 2021 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, MO. She was 86.
Barbara was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church Miami, OK. She attended and graduated from Miami High School Class of 1953.
Barbara and her husband Marvin M. Johnston of the home just celebrated their 64th Wedding Anniversary, June 22nd.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Laura (Walker) Baldridge, brothers, David Lee Baldridge, Charles Rex Baldridge and Joseph Morris Baldridge, sister Mary Margaret Baldridge Blue Jacket, a granddaughter Barbara Corene Campbell, a grandson Matthew Mark Johnston and a granddaughter Kayla Renee Russell.
Barbara is survived by her husband Marvin Johnston of the home, her children Brenda McCullough and husband Robert of Miami, OK , Tim Johnston and wife Paula of Miami, OK, Mark Johnston and wife Tonya of Miami, OK , Laura Boyd and husband Tim of Neosho, MO and Sheila Johnston of Wyandotte, OK, her brothers Raymond Baldridge Derby, KS and George Baldridge of Wichita, KS. Barbara never hesitated to show great love for family which included 86 grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Funeral Mass will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Miami, OK. Interment will be in Ottawa Indian Cemetery , East of Miami, OK. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Clinton Boyd, Zack Johnston, Aaron Johnston, Kyle Beebe, Andrew Shyers, and Joshua Campbell. Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons Chad Johnston and Mitchell Johnston. Rosary will be 6:00 p.m. Monday at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Miami with visitation following.
