(From Konantz Warden Funeral Home)Harold Randolph Monroe (also known to many as Randy Thomas) was born on December the 30th, 1945 in the State of Missouri to Elizabeth Val Donna Wilkerson Monroe and Harold R Monroe. He went home to be with Jesus and his departed family on Wednesday the 23rd of June.
Randy was the youngest of two brothers. Randy grew up in Weir, KS. On October 22, 1966 he married his sweetheart, Rosalee Melton, and God blessed their marriage with four children, James and Diane Monroe of Tyler, Texas, Randy Jr. and Ruthanna Monroe of Weir, KS, Will and Tonya Perryman of Lone Jack, MO and Treina Mortell of Big Sandy, TX.
In 2016 they celebrated 50 years of marriage along with their children, 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Randy Thomas was saved in 1979 at Faith Tabernacle in Weir, KS. He worked in construction and built several homes in Country Club addition located across from Pittsburg High School. He also built a Christian School in Joplin, MO in 1990.
He and Rosalee retired to Texas after their children were grown and enjoyed antiques. They returned to Weir, KS in 2006.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Rosalee, and son-in-law, Joseph Sandifer.
Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to Faith Tabernacle in Weir, KS.
A memorial gathering will be held at Crocker Cemetery 8892 NE Highway 171, Pittsburg, KS 66762 on Saturday June 26, 2021 at 2 p.m.
