Bertha Yoder

Bertha (Swartzentruber) Yoder was born on October 14, 1941 in Kempsville, VA, daughter of the late Jonas and Anna (Miller) Swartzentruber.

On August 14, 1961 she was married to Allen Yoder with whom she lived in Holy Matrimony for 59 years and 10 months. She passed away peaceably at her home surrounded by her husband and all her children on June 16, 2021 at the age of 79 years and 8 months. 








 Bertha’s life reflected her love for her Lord! She loved her family and the church dearly.

Surviving are her husband of the home, Allen Yoder; eleven children, Arlen Yoder (Jenny) of Stark City, Missouri, Mervin Yoder (Viola) of Maryville, Missouri, Clayton Yoder (Christina), of Maryville, Missouri, Lorraine Yoder of Stark City, Missouri, Ivan Yoder (Diane) of Temple, Texas, Eunice Reyes (Lupe) of Stark City, Missouri, Jason Yoder (Priscilla) of Stark City, Missouri, Sara Rissler (Daniel) of Rutherford, Texas, Calvin Yoder (Rhoda) of Stark City, Missouri, Bertha Ann Byler (Tristan) of Stark City, Missouri and Joanna Yoder of Stark City, Missouri; two brothers, Daniel Swartzentruber (Marie) of Montezuma, Georgia and Merlin Swartzentruber of Abbeville, South Carolina and one sister, Catherine Troyer of Farmville, Virginia; fifty grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were one grandchild, Phillip Yoder; five brothers and one sister.

Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, June 19, 2021, at Fairview Mennonite Church in Fairview, Missouri. David Byler, Vernon Nissley, Daniel Schrock and Steve Swartzentruber will conduct the services. Burial will be at Fairview Christian Fellowship Cemetery in Fairview.

The family will receive friends Friday from 2:00 until 4:00 P.M. and from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Fairview Mennonite Church.

Arrangements are under direction of McQueen Funeral Home in Wheaton.
