Doris Bay

Doris Evelyn Bay, age 97, Webb City, passed away on Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at Mercy of Joplin.

Doris was born September 15, 1923 in Webb City, daughter of the late Warren Edge and Orvetta (Eubank) Edge. She graduated from Webb City High School, and went to work for Goodyear Tire in 1964 where she worked as a teletype operator until retiring in 1980. She was a member of Destiny Church of Webb City where she enjoyed spending time with her church family.

In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Clinton Bay who passed away on July 17, 2005, and her son, David Throop, who passed February 25, 2021.

Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Celia Throop of Webb City, grandchildren, Michael Throop of Webb City, and Amy Page and husband Jeramy of Kansas City, Missouri; great-grandson, Warren Page; sister, Twyla Peek of Webb City; nieces, Kathy Arnall and husband Rev. John Arnall, Kristy Hodson and husband Tim; nephews, Jim Peek and John Peek and wife Sharon.

Graveside service will be Friday, July 2, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Mount Hope Cemetery in the Open Air Pavilion with Rev. John Arnall officiating.

Family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Integrity Hospice.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
