Gene Wingert

Eugene "Gene" George Wingert, age 65, of Golden City, Missouri passed away June 21, 2021, at Cox Barton County Hospital in Lamar, Missouri.

Gene was born April 23, 1956 in Lockwood, MO to Reginald C. Wingert and Kathryn Jane (Hassing) Wingert. Eugene graduated from Golden City High School in the class of 1974.

Gene was a truck driver for Mid-Central Contractors and a cattle farmer. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lamar, MO.








Survivors include 5 brothers; Thomas Michael (Pamela) Wingert, Lamar, MO, Robert Joseph (Sharon) Wingert, John William (Paula) Wingert, Charles Mark (Karen) Wingert, all of Golden City, MO. and Dennis Raymond (Lisa) Wingert, of Lamar, MO, four sisters; Mary Kathryn (Pat) Conway, St. Joseph, MO, Ruth Elaine (Rick) Rice, Carthage, MO, Rita Jane (Tim) Lehman, Erie, KS and Charlotte Grace (Bill) Scott of Golden City, MO.

Preceding Gene in death were his parents; two brothers; James Reginald Wingert and Edward Francis Wingert, one brother-in-law; Richard Taft, and two sisters-in-laws: Donna Wingert and Joyce Wingert.

Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 25, 2021 at Daniel Funeral Home with burial to follow in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Lamar, MO.

Rosary will be held at 5:00 p.m., Thursday, June 24, 2021 at Daniel Funeral Home, with visitation to follow until 7:00 p.m.

Contributions are suggested and made payable to St. Mary's Catholic Church in care of Daniel Funeral Home.
