(From Knell Mortuary)Mary Lou Yarbrough, 94, Carthage, Missouri, passed away Thursday afternoon, June 17, 2021 at St. Luke’s Nursing Center, Carthage, Missouri.
Mary Lou was born April 13, 1927 in Carthage, the daughter of Paul and Romaine (Kollenburn) Richardson. She was a 1945 graduate of Carthage High School.
She married the love of her life, Charles Yarbrough on July 28, 1946.
Mary Lou was a member of Grace Episcopal Church where she served on the Altar Guild. She was active in Music Club, the Carthage Humane Society and the Rotary and Music Clubs musicals and enjoyed reading, playing tennis and bridge.
Survivors include her daughters, Paula Agan (Tom), and Mary Martha Schmidt (Mike), both of Overland Park, Kansas; three granddaughters, Ashley Werthman (Jake), Overland Park, Kansas, Courtney Shaw (David), Overland Park, Kansas, and Dr. Meredith Waggoner (Toby), Oakley, Kansas; and six great-grandchildren, Hayley and Braden Cooper, Katelyn Werthman, and Logan, Connor, and Whitney Shaw.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Charles.
The family would like to thank St. Luke’s Assisted Living, especially Lori, and Integrity Hospice.
Private family services will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the nurse’s fund at Grace Episcopal Church, Carthage Humane Society, or Integrity Hospice in care of Knell Mortuary. Online condolences may be expressed through www.knellmortuary.com.
