Micheal Wetherell

Micheal William Wetherell, age 26, of Joplin, passed away on Monday, June 21, 2021 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin.

Micheal was born on October 17, 1994 to William Wetherell and Mary Wetherell in Joplin. He grew up and attended school in Joplin being active in baseball, basketball, and football. He graduated from Joplin High School in 2013. After graduation he started his own business in lawn care.








“Mikey” as his friends and family called him, was a loving son, brother, grandson, and friend. He brought joy to others around him and was one to offer help to anyone in need. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying everything from longboarding to fishing. His favorite times were spent with his family and friends.

Survivors include his mother, Mary Wetherell, of Joplin; his father, William Wetherell, and his wife, JoAnn, of Joplin; his siblings, Amanda Wetherell and Peyton Wetherell, both of Joplin; his bonus sisters, Kira DeGraw, Kaitlyn DeGraw, and Kylie DeGraw; grandparents, William and Alice Harper, of Joplin, Sally Wetherell, of Joplin, and Stacy Ash, of Webb City; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members. Micheal was preceded in death by his grandparents, William and Linda Wetherell; and his great grandmother, Virginia Glover.

Memorial services will be held on Monday, June 28, 2021 at 6:00 pm at Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary in Joplin. The family will hold a time of visitation following services. A private family committal of ashes will be held at a later date at the Osborne Cemetery in Joplin.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin.
