(From Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home)Marilyn Reed, 79, Stark City, MO, passed into eternal rest June 14, 2021 at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin after a long illness.
Marilyn McElroy was born April 27, 1942 in Houston, Texas County, MO the daughter of Earl Wilbur and Georgian Frances (Fullerton) McElroy.
Marilyn was a homemaker and she was a faithful member of the Racine Christian Church. She formerly was a regional manager for Sunfish Sail Boat Company in Florida.
Marilyn was a member of the Newtonia Quilting Club and loved the beach and bling. She was a co-owner with her husband Bud at Pioneer Homes in Neosho. She and Bud were co-sponsors of a marriage class at Racine Christian Church. She served on the Mission Committee for many years. She was a Stephens Minister and leader of a Women's Group. She absolutely loved the Wednesday morning card group at RCC. She will always be remembered by her saying “I’m happy, healthy and fun to be with”…. She really was.
Marilyn McElroy married Charles (Bud) Reed June 16, 1962 at the family log house in Humble, TX and he survives.
Additional survivors include two daughters, Jennifer Mitchael and husband Jay, Gravette, AR and Leisa Van Zandt and husband Sonny, Waco, TX; three sons, Isaac Reed and wife Lori, Neosho, Jeffrey Reed and Grace Foley, Melbourne, FL and John Reed, Goodman, MO.; two sisters, Patricia Page and husband Wray, Houston, Tx and Carol Bright, West Plains, MO; A host grandchildren and great-grandchildren and extended family and friends
Visitation will be held from 2 to 3 pm, Saturday, June 19, 2021 at the Racine Christian Church prior to the funral service.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm, Saturday, June 19, 2021 at the Racine Christian Church with John St Clair officiating.
A private family committal service will be held Monday, June 21, 2021 at the New Salem Cemetery West of Neosho, MO.
Arrangements under the personal direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca, MO. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Racine Christian Church. Memorial contribution will be given to Life Choices and or Hope House of Hattie.
